Great Bear Wilderness

On May 19, 2010, I went to Kalispell, MT, for work, and took the opportunity to explore and hike around. Our very first trip to the Rocky Mountains was in 1997, when we went to Glacier National Park. We haven’t been back to Glacier since then, and we didn’t see the area outside the west side of the park at all. I did some hiking in the Great Bear Wilderness as well as some hiking in Glacier. I checked out the Two Medicine area of Glacier, which was where we spent our first couple of days on our trip in 1997, and I didn’t recognize anything at all. I’m not used to that. I think I was so overwhelmed by our first trip to the Rockies, that I just don’t remember many details from the beginning of the trip. But the Kalispell area of Montana is absolutely beautiful. I didn’t realize it was as pretty as it is, and I could imagine having a cabin in this area. In fact, the following weekend Tracy and I had planned on taking a road trip down to Colorado, but after seeing this area, I decided we would come back up here. I didn’t do lots of hiking since I was traveling for work, but I did enough hiking to really enjoy the area.
