On June 15, 2013, Tracy and I did an overnighter at Brown Duck Basin. The hike up to Brown Duck was brutal. It was nearly five miles of ascent, and the trail was covered in large rocks for about three miles. It was an unpleasant hike. But Brown Duck Lake was pretty, and we didn’t see another person the whole weekend, so it wasn’t a total loss. The rocks really made the trail unpleasant, though, so I don’t know that we’ll ever go back to this trail.
