Crack Canyon is a great non-technical canyon in the San Rafael Swell just outside of Goblin Valley State Park. The weekend of 9 Mar 07, Tracy and I did some hiking here, and it was a great hike. The canyon had some spots that bordered on being technical, but they were fairly easily negotiated. Tracy got spooked at one of the steep sections, but I was able to coerce her into dropping down. There were some nice slots, as well as some wet spots. We were in the canyon for over five hours, and we didn’t see another soul. That was really nice. It was also nice to be in warm weather…I think Spring is almost here.
