On 28 Jun 08, Tracy and I did a long dayhike up to Grandaddy Lakes in the Uintas. We did some cross-country hiking to Marsell Lake, which was nice. We couldn’t get down to Marsell Lake because it was too steep where we came up on the lake. Also, everywhere we went, we found campsites or informal trails…you can’t go anywhere without seeing signs of people. We hiked about 12 miles, and the trail was completely snow-free…which was surprising since it was covered in about 3 feet of snow just two weeks earlier. We had a great hike…the lakes out there are really nice.
