Hans Kennamer Cave

On November 21, 2015, we took our first trip to Hans Kennamer Cave.  This cave is on private land near Grant, AL, and it’s a maze-type cave due to its complex passages.  It has multiple entrances, including one small entrance and another bigger entrance that drops into a stream.  We entered through the small entrance and then just explored around the cave.  After an hour or so, we started down a passage that led to the stream entrance.  That passage dropped into the stream, which required some knee-deep wading and some scrambling along mud banks.

After we exited the cave with our friends, Tracy and I went back in and I practiced taking some cave photographs.

This is a nice cave for kids, it’s close to the house, and the landowners are very friendly.

This is not the actual location of the cave.
